9. Should "illegals" be able to become citizens? Due Wednesday

According to Deanna B. "illegal immigrants should have there chance at the American Dream because they aren't harming anyone".
This is an opinion not a fact.
The Center of Immigration Studies has stated taht many "violent crimes in the United States are committed by illegal immigrants".
These people are also harder to track down and be arrested by the police since they use false names, fake documents and usually go back over the border to hide after they committ a crime and can't be extradited (brought back to the U.S. to face being punished).
So to say that these people aren't harming us is really just completely false and totally not the case at all.
SO do you still think all of them are just here to "start a new life"?
Deanna also says that "as long as they are following the law they should be allowed to stay".
The problem with that is that these people have'nt been following the law since they came here illegally.
Why should they be rewarded for cominmg here illegally when all of the legal immigrants paid so much money and spent so many years in order to come here legally?
THen the last thing Deanna says is that she thinks that "out of the 12 million illegal immigrants only 1 out of the 12 would be a terrorrist".
This is ridiculous!Mohamed Atta who attacked the World Trade Center on September 11 and three of the other terrorists with him were here in our country illegally. So do you still think that it's "outrageous" to beleve that illegal immigrants are here to harm us?
The last thing Deanna said was that"most of these immigrants come here from Mexico and only a couple are here from the Middle East".
This is also incorrect. A study done by the Center for Immigration Studies found that "Middle Easteners are one of the fastest growing immigrant groups in America. The number of immigrants from the Middle East has grown more than seven fold, from fewer than 200,000 in 1970 to nearly 1.5 million in 2000".
These are all important facts to think about when your talking about immigration and reforming the laws of this country.
According to Mr.Victor Chan he thinks that "illegal immigrants" should have a shot at the American Dream.
I say that this is many peoples opinions and this is what they think.Others might not think the same but it does not make them wierd.A question i have for Mr.Victor Chan is What makes you state this opinion? Are you just saying this because a Senate had said that or do you have your own opinion behind it?
Do all illegal immigrants deserve this and are all innocent?
Mr.Chan had also said that they should have some rights to stay here.
I say do you think they should have any rights at all?I say this because not all are as innocent as you may think.Also do "illegal immigrants" deserve to have a easy path? What if the person becomes a citizen and does something that effects the country in many ways.
Then what are we going to do band all citizens?
In Alex s's opinion he thinks that immigrants should get a shot at the american dream and that they should have an easy path to citizenship. Well let me ask you this what if these immigrants do something that is against the law then what, would you still let them have an easy time becoming a citizen or would you put them in jail for a long time. It would be even worse if the immigrants were citizens and did that because it would be our fault for letting them become citizens in the first place.
I think that Colin had the most thoughtful summary.It is true that most crimes are commited by illegal immigrants.I do think that illegal immigrants should be aloud to stay as long as they have low paying jobs.
They take all the jobs that we dont want.If you think about it they're very good to have in our country.There is malso a number of illegal immigrants that try to harm us.thats why we have to go through metal detectors at the airport.
Most bomb threats are from illegal immigrants.We should at least check if they have criminal record.Im not trying to say its alright to get into America illegally.They should have had a better security system.

Isabella explained how people (like Tom Tancredo) think that immigration could bring problems here in America. She explained how immigration poses as societal, economic, security and political issues. She disagrees with Tom Tancredo and the other people that agree with Mr. Tancredo. “Illegal immigrants or American Citizens, they should both have the same rights, same jobs and not be scared to go for the American dream that millions of Americans are trying to accomplish.”
Personally, I agree with Isabella and think that everyone should have a shot at an American dream as well. But there are a few concerns. I am not saying there are people that don’t want a future here in America, but what if, just what if; the Congress could pass a bill that would prove that the immigrants could become the hard working citizens we know that they could be. Do you think that would work out better? Or do you think we should let anyone to come here and stay as legal citizens, just because they want to?
Justin says that America is going back, to when people were not treat equal. I feel that this is incorect for a couple of reasons. I feel America is treating people fairly because they are just to control the population in America, so they don't have people coming in when they want and how they want to. It is also a sercurity reason for all this, people could be smuggling drugs, guns and some of them could be terrorist. These kinds of people couls hurt our country and our safety.The illegal immigrants I think are the ones that should have a hard time becoming legal. They are not supose to be in the first place, but for the people that got here with permission should have all the freedoms we have. Thats what I feel about Justin's comment
Maria Y. says that we should just give any illegal immigrant that has passed the border illegally a greencard. She also says that the hispanics that are coming here have the "same blood running through our veins"
Now, i partly agree, and partly disagree with Maria, these hispanic people ( who are not the only ones coming to America illegaly!) yes, should have a shot at the American dream. But do you think their all coming here just for that? Although we mostly hear only about the hispanics briniging in guns and drugs illegally along with themselves, Europeans and Africans and anyone else from any part of the world can be doing the same thing. We just dont know that cause its always the hispanics that make the news headlines. Anyways, unfortunately, criminals are coming into this country illegally also. So i think its a bad idea giving everyone who comes in a greencard

I agree and dis agree because yes, they should get a shot to live the american dream. But think what will happen if you do that, America will overcrowd and less jobs would be there for you and many of the people you know. Some that are coming to america might be bringing in guns, bombs and possibely even drugs. Iamgine a world like that. Now this is my question. How would you feel if you or your parents could not get a job and lived homeless, and people would be terrorizing America?

I really agree with this statement because all illegal immigrants should be able to become citizens because they should be treated like everyone else and have a chance at a new start. Some of these immigrants have worked very hard to get here and some even have kids and there going to come here and someone is going to say you can’t become a citizen. That’s wrong everyone should have a chance. I do people every immigrants should be qualified for a green card. I do believe all illegal immigrants that qualify for a green card should be checked to make sure they are not bringing in guns and drugs if they are the should be brought back to there country. All immigrants should have a chance to be an American citizen.

According to Henry Zhang "illegal immigrants should have a american dream because they can change the world to a better place". Undocumented immigrants should get a shot at the american dream.
I agree with Henry Zhang about how he feels about illegal immigrants.Mr zhang says that Mr. Jeff Flake representative of Arizona said that “to be honest, we need foreign workers.”I think that illegal immigrants help america be a better place by working in factories for low pay. Illegal immigrants also help america alot with businesses and stores. Even though that the illegal immigrants are undocumented they still worked to blend in like the american citizens.
Even though Mr Zhang stated that Tom Tancredo, thinks that illegal immigration is a terrorist threat.I don't think thats true because not every illegal immgrants come to america just to kill people around us. Just because one group of people did the wrong decisions the rest shouldnt suffer. This is why I agree with Henry Zhang.
Based on Alex's tenet which states "illegal immigrants should get a shot at the American Dream and they should have a easy path to citizenship" it is a good opinion, but still is only a opinion. People might think it won't be fair because citizens had came to America from hard work and they earned the U.S citizenship by long time of very cantankerous work. They could think which there is a heinousness amount of immigrants coming by sneaking in is not fair because they take their job, bring illness and teem the cities. A question to you is that if the immigrants are cumulous and causes great catasrophic, will you still give them a easy path to being a citizenship because you did not state otherwise they breaks the law, so will you still always give them an opportunity to become a citizenship no matter what they do? If they wanted to become citizen they should not be given such a easy path as you say but instead been given a hard and long path for them to earn themselves a U.S citizen and have just begin to live the great ☺American Dream☺!!!

I think that the most thoughtful comment was jean Lubrun's comment. In his comment he said that we should trust the illegal immigrants and let them stay in the us. he also said that "I don’t see a problem why the Senators can not pass a law or bill that would have to make sure the immigrants are hard working and could actually stay here in America as citizens." Not all illegal immigrants will be hard working and take low paying jobs.
My question for Jean Lubrun is that why should we trust illegal immigrants?
If we do, does it benefit us a lot?
If we do let them stay in and let them become a citizen then the us will be over crowded of illegal immigrants.
Don't we have enough problems to deal with our self's as in the us? Then why are we going to let more people to come into the us and might cause more trouble for us?

This is a opinion but I agree with it. Illegal immigrants should have the shot at the American Dream because without them, the world would not turn out to what it became. The immigrants takes low paying job that legal citizen wouldn't take at all. So thats why I agree with Victor Chan.

I think Senator Coryn and other senate in the house had said "an easier path to citizenship" because they probably feel they deserve the right and feel that they should have an easier path for undocumented immigrants. I think the illegal immigrants should become citizns,because a lot of the illegal immigrants are good peole.If we let illegal immigrants become citizns,then they
will start a new life of their own.
And this new life for the illegal immigrants is like a fresh new start,where they can move on with a better life.
