A muckraker is a person who inquires into and publishes scandal and allegations of corruption among political and business leaders.
I think the issue in America that needs to be exposed is the issue of the ozone layer which as you know is slowly withering away from pollution and hairspray chemicals. Most people would worry more about poltical scandels or terrorist attacks but i think that the ozone layer disapearing is more important,and thats because if it disapears we could get skin cancers from the sun harmful rays which greatly damages our lives.

The issues that the current day America has to expose is racism.Even though most people don't think it's a big issue it is.If you go and ask the people who racism is towards it's jsut another point of view for most people.Think if it was towards you would it be a big issue for you for just another pass on by issue?Not everyone realizes how it hurts a person , so try to put yourself in that persons shoes.
If racism grows in the United States probablly more problems will grow.It'll turn into a bigger problem and start war between certain countries.Racism can also cause political problems if you think about it. Only because the United States has made friends with other countries. So if anythign happens further then a little racism it will become a big issue for the world.

I think an issue of muckrake is pollution beacause people all over the world are littering. Factories are blowing toxic smoke into the air which is making some of our birds close to extiction. People are throwing garbage and other waste aon the floor when it should be properly disposed in waste baskets. Our ozone layer is wasting away because of all this pollution. Our ice caps are melting and will flood the Earth one day in the future.

2.I believe that one of our biggest issues in todays society is still racism.I believe that this is a problem that needs to be muckraked as soon as possible.This problem is very important to expose because i think we should all be treated equally.Although slavery was abolished some people still look down on us African Americans and Puerto Ricans.Although we might not have had a fair life in our past we as American citizens should have changed that as soon as slavery was abolished.We need to stand up for what is right in our society and what is not right.For example the Jena 6 was not right.Mychal Bell had to go to jail for behaving in public in a way that he shouldnt have,but at the same the caucassion boy should have went to jail too because hanging that lynch on the tree was a hate crime.

The issues that i think needs to be exposed is racism. All people have their own point of view of racism. Some people think that it is not that big of a deal because its not toward them but it is. If it was towards you ,you would feel bad inside right? Well i wouldn't so i think this issue should be highly exposed.

When you are constructing a house or building you are basically polluting the airalso. When u tear down the forest you destroying the animals home. If you were the animal would u like that to happen to you?

I think that the biggest problem that America has today is the war in Iraq, were fighting for no reason! Yes its true, many inhumane things were happening in Iraq and Afghanistan such as the lack of freedom of speech and violence all around the countries, and most of the violence was against innocent, poor people. But there was no reason to fight and make a war against the countries; you cannot solve this problem with violence. You can’t fight violence with violence. What we should really be trying to expose is the real reason why president Bush sent troops there to “fight” and give “freedom” to those in Iraq and Afghanistan cause there really not helping, just making it worse.

I think the issue in America that many people deny and do not want expose is racism.Many people consider it to be nothing, but I do because it hurts people and it is not fair for people to be treated that way that do not deserve to be treated like that. Even though slavery was ended many years ago, some people still are against african amercians and they do not treat them with respect. It is wrong for people to be prejudice. I agree with Shareece Charles. I also think that racism should be muckraked. When people are racist it kills me inside and tears me apart. We live in a country where there are all different types of races and religions and it is not right to dislike someone because of that. No matter what anyone thinks or says we are all equal. We might have different ways, rules and beliefs (and we do) but that does not give anyone the right to be racist. No matter what, I think that we should still fight racism and be an un racist society.

I think an issue of racism should be a really big issue of the U.S.A. Even though people thinks that this issue is not important but to some it is. I thought that if the world wasnt full with racism then the world will be fine. But there are some in America who thinks others with differnt skin color is a big issue. Racism cause many problems in the U.S. I thought if Martin Luther King Jr never spoke up for the African Americans then the White's will still make African Americans sit in the back of the bus or not even get a seat at all. Also racism also involves current society in schools and outside of schools.
In my school I.S.234 it doesnt have that much racism but kids think that insulting other kids in the school will be a good way to make others feel about them. Racism even effect other kids, adults, and other's feelings. I remember when i was walking home these kids came up to a girl in the school yard and insulting her by her race. I don't think if anyone who gets insulted by their race they will feel really good. In my oppions i really think kids who are racist or adults who are racist outside in the public should be dealed immediatly and should be fined.

A big issue in America would be violence. Today people around the country are getting hurt or even worse killed for rediculous reasons. You here all the time on the news that someone was killed because of gang vilence or someone got shot for something they didn't even do. Just imagine this you go into a store and you are about to by something from the store owner which you knew, when a person comes in with gun and shots the man in the leg for maybe about 30.00 dollars. What would you think and what would you do. Most people would forget about what happen, and other people would get revenge and shot the man that didn't, but that would add to the violence. For me I feel violence is the key thing a muckraker whould expose.

An issue that needs to be exposed in contemporary America right now is poverty. It's hard to understand how we the richest country can have such a problem with poverty. If people come to America for the so called "American Dream", then why do we have such a large population of homeless people? Why does a "Super Power" like the United States have so many people that don't have health insurance? We really have to start making the government understand that we want more of our tax dollars going to fighting poverty then going to make more weapons.

the issue i think needs to be muckraked is the horrible language in some songs.a lot of teens listen to songs with curses sexual talk and racist remarks an some teens have little siblings which listen to these songs from a different room. we teens do not relize how we are role models to are younger siblings an we do what we want an they follow wat we do.
what im trying to say is they may end up saying something to someone there not suppose to which is not a good thing.these songs change a lot in a child. its not a good thing for us but we can control ourselfs we know when an to who we can say these things to.little children cant not an they dont even lnow what these wods mean

My definition of a muckraker is a journalist, author, or any individuals who exposes people who are creating crimes. In crimes I mean labors, people who cheat cash off of others, political agruements, and so on.
I think the issue of racism which is a belief that members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially to the comparison of another race. Racism has existed all the way back in the 19th century. Although racism had been forbidden after the World War Two and the Holocaust, racism still remains and widely spread around the world. This has been a major problem which is still commonly practiced. This is a major subject to expose since I truly believe that everybody will be the same or equal and should be treated equally. We all belong to the "Human Race" so people should not have been treated differently no matter what race they are. This has to be exposed out of everyone before this kind of ideology spreads and keep spreading.
